Who is Brian

Hi, My name is Brian Madigan.

I'm a teacher, author and life-long spiritual journeyer, My work explores what it means to live with greater authenticity and presence in everyday life.

My journey began at a very young age with questions. Where do I find meaning? What is my purpose? How do I find connection to the divine? What does it mean to live a good life?

Over the years these questions led me to many paths. They all brought practices and ways of understanding the world that have become life-long companions. Many offered important lessons to be integrated into my life.

I discovered a deep appreciation for the wisdom that can be found in many philosophies. Every path taught me something. They all contributed to the person I am today.

Most importantly they all led me to understand that spiritual growth is not separate from everyday life. It moves through our relationships, our choices, our challenges, and the way we show up in the world.

That understanding continues to guide my practice and teaching.

Lineage and Practice

Eventually my search for understanding led me to Ifá, the traditional spiritual system of the Yorùbá people of West Africa. The system appealed to me because it seemed to be a perfect place where everything I had learned could be synthesized. It all made sense from an Ifá perspective.

I was initiated as a High Priest (Olúwo) in 2007 and received my Yorùbá name Olánipèkun. Since then Ifá has become the foundation for my practice and teaching.

With lineage comes the gift of depth. It provides continuity, guidance, and community. At its best it offers a flexible framework for ongoing growth.

My work is rooted in the teachings and practices of my Ifá lineage and the others if which  I have been blessed to be a part. I am grateful to all the traditions, teachers and experiences that have shaped my practice along the way.

Wisdom can be found in many places but depth can only come from consistent practice on a singe path. My  lineage has provided that depth while allowing me to remain open to whatever wisdom may appear.

How I Teach

I believe that spiritual growth comes from learning how to meet life more honestly. Simply collecting beliefs, experiences or techniques can't lead to deep change.

My role is to help you create the conditions where deeper answers can emerge form within you. Sometimes that happens through conversation. At other times through spiritual practice, reflection ritual, or paying closer attention to the lessons life is trying to teach you.

The most meaningful transformations rarely come  directly through dramatic experiences. More often they arise through small shifts in awareness that occur over time. Sometimes through integrating powerful initiations. At others through simply living life. Your willingness to remain curious when certainty would be easier is essential.

I encourage you to explore widely but eventually to go deep. Learning from diverse sources can be valuable, but there comes a point when depth matters more than breath. Real transformation comes from staying with a practice long enough for it to reach the deepest part of you.

Whatever path you eventually choose, I hope it helps you become more grounded, open-hearted, and fully yourself.

I’m grateful you found your way here. Let’s walk together for a while.
