Who is Brian
Hi, my name is Brian Madigan.
I'm a teacher, author and lifelong spiritual explorer. My work explores what it means to live with greater authenticity and presence in everyday life.
My journey began at a very young age with questions. Where do I find meaning? What is my purpose? How do I find connection to the divine? What does it mean to live a good life?
Over the years these questions led me to many paths. Each brought its own wisdom, practices, and ways of understanding the world that became lifelong companions. Each offered lessons that helped shape the person I am today.
Most importantly they all led me to understand that spiritual growth is not separate from everyday life. It moves through our relationships, our choices, our challenges, and the way we show up in the world.
That understanding continues to guide my practice and teaching.
Lineage and Practice
Eventually my search for understanding led me to Ifá, the traditional spiritual system of the Yorùbá people of West Africa. The system appealed to me because it brought together everything I had learned along the way. It gave me a framework that helped those experiences make sense as a whole.
I was initiated into Ifá in 2007, then completed my training as an Olúwo in 2010. Since then Ifá has become the foundation for my practice and teaching.
Lineage offers the gift of depth. It provides continuity, guidance, and community. At its best it offers a flexible framework for ongoing growth.
My work is rooted in the teachings and practices of my Ifá lineage, while also being informed by the other traditions and communities that have shaped my life.
Wisdom can be found in many places but depth grows through consistent practice on a single path. My lineage has provided that depth while allowing me to remain open to whatever wisdom may appear.
